Cigar Bar | Hospitality Lighting Design
CIGAR BAR
Student Project: Luminaires & Controls | OTIS 2021| Instructor- John Martin
Tasked with the lighting design for an existing Cigar Bar - I wanted to create an ethereal experience from the moment patrons walked up. Seeing images of hospitality lighting for restaurants, bars and boutique hotels inspired me to create lighting that resembled embers from a fire. Layering light by picking key feature decorative pendants and custom fixtures, as well as adjustable track lighting for way-finding and diffused led-tape lights for the bar die and under-cabinet shelving. An important focus on casting shadows to create a bar atmosphere, I wanted to make sure the way light was thrown felt intentional and dramatic. Light plan created on autoCAD, detail drawings hand-drafted, lighting fixtures, controls + calculations all specified by me and presented to class for our semester final.
